Fort Langley
Fort Langley is a village located along the Fraser River in the Township of Langley, British Columbia. The population of Fort Langley is 2,700. It is home of the Fort Langley National Historic Site, which served as an early fur trading centre for the Hudson’s Bay Company in BC.
The Fort played a vital role in the establishment of the 49th parallel with the United States and was used as a launching point for many prospectors heading north in search of gold.
The city is a thriving tourist centre today and features a large variety of recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, canoeing, cycling, and horseback riding. Also located in Fort Langley is the British Columbia Farm Museum – a great source of information about agricultural heritage in BC.
