Eco-friendly Initiatives in Langley


Langley Resuses (www.langleyreuses.com) is a great website for people in the Langley area that want to give their old stuff a second chance. If you’re in need of various items then check out that website too.

The Township of Langley has a toilet rebate program. They also sell rain barrels for $35. Collecting water in rain barrels is great way to reduce the summer demand on your water system. Your lawn and plants can still get their water too.

Another green initiative is the residential water saver kits that are for sale from the Township of Langley. The indoor kit costs $10 and the outdoor kit is $20.

Batteries

Starting on Monday July 4th, 2010, the city of Langley has stopped its battery recycling program at the City Hall. It will no longer accept any batteries.

There are however, locations in Langley to drop off alkaline and rechargeable batteries. Some of these facilities also take old cellphones and similar items:
